Flag Raising Ceremony

Yachting season opens with a flag raising ceremony in May.  After a bugle sounds "Ruffles & Flourishes" and "To the Colors" the ceremony begins.  Old Glory, the Maryland and Kent County flags and the CRY&CC Burgee are raised to the top of the mast accompanied by cannon fire.  The ceremony is closed with the "Stars & Stripes Forever" and a traditional toast of Champagne & strawberries.
